Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- The volume of allocated mortgage loans in Uzbekistan in 2023 amounted to 16.85 trillion soums, according to the Central Bank of Uzbekistan. The growth of mortgage loans compared to 2022 was 17.36%.
At the same time, the volume of loans for the purchase of housing in the primary market amounted to 9.77 trillion soums, and in the secondary market – 7.08 trillion soums.
According to the Central Bank, the balance of mortgage loans at the end of 2023 amounted to 58.2 trillion soums
The largest number of mortgage loans were issued in Tashkent - 5 trillion soums, in Ferghana region - 1.33 trillion soums and in Navoi region - 1.25 trillion soums.
In 2023, according to the Central Bank of Uzbekistan, 20% of mortgage loans were allocated to persons aged 18-30 years, 69% - to 31-50 years old, 11% - over 50 years old.
The Ministry of Economy and Finance of Uzbekistan allocated 9.56 trillion soums for financing mortgage loans, banks - 5.72 trillion soums and the Mortgage Refinancing Company of Uzbekistan - 1.57 trillion soums.
