Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- On 24-25 September, fans of Korean culture gathered in Tashkent to get to know the culture of South Korea better, as well as to hear their favorite world-famous K-POP stars live. In honor of the 30th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between Uzbekistan and the Republic of Korea, the World Festival of Korean Culture Mokkoji Korea was held in Tashkent.

For two days, Anhor-Lokomotiv Park became the center of attraction for everyone who is into Korean dramas, webtoons, food, hangul and lifestyle. The organizers were the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism of the Republic of Korea and the Korean Foundation for International Cultural Exchange.

“At the Mokkoji Korea festival, we traditionally represent the diversity of Korean culture and traditions. We are glad that in this significant year for our countries, the holiday is held in Tashkent. Uzbekistanis are showing increasing interest in South Korea: they are learning the language, interested in k-pop music, young people are winning grants to study at universities in Korea. I am sure that the partnership between Korea and Uzbekistan will continue to grow stronger, and many more large-scale events and projects are waiting for us,” said Yuri Choi, Korea Foundation for International Cultural Exchange.

During the 2 days of the exhibition, guests were able to taste such popular dishes in Korea as gimpap, japchae, teokbokki, bibimbap. The drama and webtoon areas hosted costume photo shoots, while the play area offered cultural experiences through traditional games and folk crafts.

To participate in Mokkoji Korea 2022, star makeup artist Bia Shin, chef and frequent participant in cooking TV shows Cha Min Wook, blogger and musician SONG WONSUB, as well as K-POP stars - Kai from EXO, Ailee and F.able flew to Tashkent.

Tickets for the final concert could be won on the festival website. With a hall capacity of 3,000 seats, the organizers received more than 10,000 entries. The fans who won tickets got to hear their idols’ favorite songs live: Mmmh by Kai and "I Will Go to You Like the First Snow" by Ailee.
