Mobiuz continues to expand its 4G LTE capabilities

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- In January-March 2021, the mobile operator Mobiuz refarmed over 700 base stations in Uzbekistan, using free frequencies of the GSM network for the needs of 4G LTE. This was reported by the press service of the company.

The process includes a full-fledged modernization of equipment, as a result, the 4G LTE network appeared where the networks of previous generations used to operate, the operator emphasized.

First of all, we are talking about the coverage of remote villages and regions with high-quality communications and mobile Internet. The largest number of base stations is on air in Kashkadarya - 125, Khorezm - 116, Andijan regions - 89, the Republic of Karakalpakstan - 66 and other regions. In the context of cities and regional centers, this also made it possible to increase the capacity of networks to serve the largest possible number of subscribers.

In addition, over 50 new 4G LTE base stations have been launched. Among them are objects in Mirabad, Yunusabad, Sergeli districts of the capital, the city of Samarkand, Zhondor, Romitan, Kagan districts of Bukhara region, Sh. Rashidovsky district of Jizzakh region, Khatyrchinsky district of Navoi region and other localities. All this also made it possible to significantly increase the coverage of the fourth generation network from Mobiuz in the regions of Uzbekistan.

Currently, work in this direction is actively continuing. Within the framework of the loan allocated to Mobiuz by the People's Republic of China, contracts were signed for the supply of technological equipment to Huawei. In particular, by the end of this year, it is planned to launch and upgrade over 1,000 base stations across the country. Moreover, over 300 objects will be installed at new sites and will further expand the penetration of high-quality mobile Internet.

In order to improve the quality and expand the range of services provided, Mobiuz is also planning to upgrade the core network of the packet core. The construction of fiber-optic communication lines in Tashkent, Yangiyul, Samarkand, Urgench, Jizzak and the launch of vEPC (virtual packet core) equipment are expected. This year, more than 180 kilometers of fiber-optic cable lines are being built, over 1.7 thousand radio relay spans are being modernized and launched.

The priority for 2021 is also to carry out a set of works on research and planning for the phased implementation of dedicated access technology for IoT (Internet of Things). As a mobile operator actively developing digital services, Mobiuz will actively develop Smart Home and Smart City technologies in the near future.
