Mobile operator to switch to soum tariffs from 1 July 2018

Mobile operators of Uzbekistan will charge their subscribers in national currency from 1 July 2018, Acting minister for development of information technologies and communications of Uzbekistan Sherzod Shermatov said.
He noted that mobile operators reported a problem of resetting their billing systems when the task was set for transferring tariffs to soums.
Sherzod Shermatov added that because of this, the operators were given a deadline till 1 July 2018 to switch from dollar tariffs to soums tariffs.
According to the Ministry for development of information technologies and communications, number of mobile communication subscribers in Uzbekistan reached 21.5 million people.
