Mirziyoyev, Putin Discuss Strategic Partnership Expansion
Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — President of the Republic of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev and President of the Russian Federation Vladimir Putin held a telephone conversation on 22 May, during which they discussed the further development of Uzbek-Russian relations.
The sides reviewed current areas of strengthening the comprehensive strategic partnership and alliance, as well as the practical implementation of agreements previously reached at the highest level.
It was noted that active contacts between the two countries continue at various levels. Interparliamentary, business, and cultural-humanitarian exchanges are developing.
According to information presented during the conversation, trade turnover between Uzbekistan and Russia has increased by 23% since the beginning of the year. Large joint projects in industry, energy, transport, and other priority sectors, including regional cooperation initiatives, are continuing.
The presidents also discussed the schedule of upcoming bilateral and multilateral events.
