Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — President of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev has signed a decree awarding members of the national U-17 football team with the “Kelajak Bunyodkori” (Builder of the Future) medals in recognition of their victory in the AFC U-17 Asian Cup final.

The team’s head coach, Islambek Ismailov, was honored with the title of Honored Sports Teacher.

In addition, Orifjon Tolipov, editor at Futbol TV, and Otabek Juraev, a leading specialist at the “Sport” creative association, were awarded the Shukhrat (Glory) medals for their contributions to sports media coverage.

On 20 April, Uzbekistan’s U-17 team defeated Saudi Arabia 2–0 in the final, claiming the Asian Cup title despite being outnumbered for much of the match.
