Mirziyoyev and Vucic Discuss Expansion of Cooperation

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — President of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev met with President of Serbia Aleksandar Vučić on the sidelines of the 13th session of the World Urban Forum in Baku, where the two sides discussed prospects for further development of Uzbek–Serbian relations.

The parties reviewed the implementation of previously reached high-level agreements and confirmed their commitment to expanding multifaceted cooperation between the two countries.

Special attention during the talks was given to increasing mutual trade and developing an industrial cooperation program. Priority areas identified included mechanical engineering, manufacturing, chemical and electrical industries, pharmaceuticals, agriculture, and tourism.

The importance of strengthening humanitarian ties was also emphasized. In this context, the sides discussed plans to hold the first forum of university rectors, as well as mutual Days of Cinema and Culture aimed at strengthening cultural relations.

The leaders also exchanged views on international issues and discussed the schedule of upcoming high-level events.
