Mirjalal Kasimov: Uzbekistan can top Group H
Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) --
Uzbekistan can top the group H of the second joint qualification round of the 2018 FIFA World Cup and 2019 AFC Asian Cup, Uzbekistan coach Mirjalal Kasimov said.
Uzbekistan will play in Group H along with Bahrain, Philippines, DPR Korea and Yemen. The teams will compete according to a double round robin format, and the Round 2 qualification matches will be held from 11 June 2015 to 29 March 2016.
Kasimov said that he is satisfied with the draw. He said that the goal of Uzbekistan to top the group and continue to fight for World Cup berth. Kasimov said that Uzbekistan is group favourites and the team can reach this goal.
He said that Bahrain has strong team and it is difficult to play against North Korea. Uzbek coach underlined that he has no information on Philippines and Yemen.
