Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- Uzbekistan’s gross external debt reached US$41.62 billion in 2021 against US$36.33 billion in 2020. This is stated in the review of macroeconomic indicators of Uzbekistan for 2021, published by the Ministry of Finance.
According to the agency, Uzbekistan’s gross external debt amounted to 60.1% of the country’s GDP in 2021 (60.7% in 2020).
At the same time, the state external debt increased from US$21.1 billion in 2020 to US$23.4 billion in 2021. In relation to GDP, the state external debt decreased from 35.2% to 35.1%.
The Ministry of Finance notes that the domestic public debt of Uzbekistan has reached 26.3 billion soums.
