Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- On 21 July this year, the Ministry of Finance has received representatives of the French Development Agency.
The French Development Agency (French: Agence française de développement, AFD) is a public financial institution that implements policies defined by the French government. It works to fight poverty and promote sustainable development. This public institution is active in Africa, Asia, the Middle East, Latin America, the Caribbean and the French overseas territories, where it finances and supports projects that improve people's living conditions, promote economic growth and protect the planet.
AFD representative Justin Perot, Vincent Kaupin, head of the AFD office in Uzbekistan, Amor Malliez, risk director, and Sylvain Bellefontaine, economist, from the AFD Economics and Research Department in Paris attended the meeting.
Deputy Minister of Finance - Odilbek Isakov, director of the Public Debt Department - Jasur Karshibaev, , director of the Macroeconomic and Fiscal Analysis Department - Zuhriddin Ibragimov and head of division of the State Budget Department - Shokhrukh Eshonkulov took part in the meeting from the side of the Ministry of Finance.
The parties discussed macroeconomic stability, projects to support the state budget and measures to effectively manage public debt.
At the end of the meeting, both sides exchanged views and agreed to continue close cooperation on joint projects.
