Minister of Public Education holds talks with French envoy

The meeting was aimed at discussing French-Uzbek cooperation in education sphere in connection with reforms in teaching foreign languages.

Within the reform, it is planned that 13,000 pupils from the first classes of general schools will start to study French language.

Ambassador said that France pays a great attention to teaching of French language in Uzbekistan, which is necessary for development of economic relations and tourism, the Embassy of France in Uzbekistan said.

He underlined that the French Institute in Uzbekistan continues to support implementation of the reform. The institute helps to develop manuals, audio and video materials, improving skills of teachers, etc.

Ambassador welcomed the plans of the Ministry of Public Education to introduce second foreign language to education curriculum at general schools.
