Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- On 9 February, the Minister of Finance Timur Ishmetov met with the Managing Director of the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD) for Central Asia Zsuzsanna Hargitai, who arrived in Uzbekistan with an official visit.
The meeting was also attended by the Head of the EBRD Office in Uzbekistan Alkis Drakinos, Director of the Tariff Policy and Reform Coordination Department Khurshed Mustafaev, Director of Banking Reforms Department Jamshid Abdushukurov, and a number of other officials.
The main topic on the agenda was the discussion of issues related to the process of transformation and privatization of state-owned banks and enterprises.
During the meeting, the parties discussed the implementation of current and prospective projects, the development of small and medium businesses, the privatization of state-owned enterprises, banks and other issues.
In addition, during the meeting the details of the process of privatization and transformation of banks, key problems before the start of the transformation of banks, as well as further prospects for cooperation were also discussed.
By the end of the meeting, the parties expressed their gratitude and agreed on further cooperation on the above issues.
