Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- The regulation “On the procedure for issuing permission to carry out mining activities” has passed state registration with the Ministry of Justice.

The regulation defines the procedure for issuing permits to carry out mining activities on the territory of Uzbekistan and the organization of this activity.

Accordingly, mining is carried out exclusively by a legal entity using electricity produced by a solar photovoltaic station, except as otherwise provided by law.

Miners can connect to a unified electrical power system in cases provided for by legislation, with the installation of a separate electrical energy meter.

Miners have the right to carry out their activities exclusively at the address specified during registration, in compliance with fire safety, sanitary standards and rules.

On the territory of Uzbekistan, it is prohibited:

implementation of hidden mining;

mining of anonymous crypto assets;

carrying out mining at an address that does not correspond to the address specified during registration;

carrying out mining without permission.

Crypto-assets obtained during mining can be sold by miners on crypto-exchanges licensed to operate as service providers in the field of crypto-asset turnover in Uzbekistan.

An expert commission, the composition of which is approved by the head of the National Agency for Prospective Projects (authorized body), within fifteen days considers the submitted application and prepares a conclusion on the issuance or refusal of a permit.

The authorized body, within five days, makes a decision to issue or refuse to issue a permit, based on the conclusion of the expert commission.

The permit is issued within one day in the form of an electronic document with a QR code (matrix bar code) applied from the date the decision is made by the authorized body.

There is no fee for obtaining a permit. The permit is issued for a period of 5 years.
