Mininfocom hosts meeting with founder of the Belarusian High-Tech Park
Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- Founder of High-Tech Park (Belarus) Valery Tsepkalo held a meeting at the Ministry for Development of Information Technologies and Communications (Mininfocom) of Uzbekistan.

Valery Tsepkalo arrived in Uzbekistan to get acquainted with the conditions for the formation and active development of high-tech industries based on the use of ICT, in particular, with the activities of the recently created Innovation Center for Support of Development and Introduction of Information Technologies “Mirzo Ulugbek Innovation Center”.

It should be noted that during creation of the Innovation Center “Mirzo Ulugbek Innovation Center”, the best practices of the Republic of Belarus on creation of High-Tech Park (HTP), the stages of its formation and development, which led the Belarusian IT industry to the leading positions on the world scale, were studied.

During the meeting, Tsepkalo expressed his willingness to provide the necessary practical assistance to the Innovation Center “Mirzo Ulugbek Innovation Center” in development of the computer software industry, including attraction and creation in Uzbekistan of software development centers for leading IT corporations, creation of laboratories for training of IT specialists on the basis of leading technical universities in Uzbekistan, and others.

The parties agreed to continue sharing their experience in promoting the growth and development of the software and information technology industry, including the development of IT parks and improving the conditions for their residents, development of incentives for national software developers, promotion of IT services exports, and improvement of the system training IT professionals and improving their skills.

Mirzo Ulugbek Innovation Center was created in line with the presidential decree “On measures for cardinal improvement of conditions for development of information technologies industry in the Republic” from 30 June 2017 and on principle of extraterritoriality and operate within all territory of Uzbekistan with accommodation of its residents throughout the country.

The Center was established to create favorable conditions for formation and active development of high-tech industries based on the use of ICT, further deepening the integration of science, education and production in this industry.

President of Uzbekistan granted a number of privileges and preferences to the participants of the Innovation Center for support of development and implementation of information technologies “Mirzo Ulugbek Innovation Center”. In particular, the residents of the center are exempted from paying taxes and compulsory payments till 1 January 2028.

Employees of the residents of the Innovation Center will pay personal income tax at the rate of 7.5% and insurance premiums of citizens to off-budget Pension Fund at the rate of 4.5%.
