Microloan and microcredit volume increases in Uzbekistan

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — Over the first nine months of 2024, the volume of microloans and microcredits in the national currency has risen by more than 50%, according to data from the Central Bank of Uzbekistan.

From January to September, financial institutions issued microloans totaling 31.86 trillion soums, marking a 53.2% increase compared to last year. The largest share of these loans was issued between July and September, accounting for over 40% of the total volume.

The volume of microcredits also grew from 7.44 trillion soums to 12.26 trillion soums, with June recording the highest microcredit issuance at 1.85 trillion soums.

In the third quarter, there was a substantial year-on-year increase in the issuance of microloans (+67.2%) and microcredits (+78.1%) compared to the same period in 2023.
