Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — On 19 September, Tashkent’s khokim Shavkat Umurzakov met with a delegation from Iran led by the Chairman of the Chamber of Commerce, Samad Hassan Zadeh.
Umurzakov highlighted the significant potential for expanding cooperation between Uzbekistan and Iran, emphasizing the importance of introducing new ideas and projects. He particularly noted Tashkent’s attractiveness as a promising region for business and the opportunities for collaboration in ecology, economy, culture, medicine, and education.
Additionally, Umurzakov discussed the advantages of the "Yangi Avlod" special economic zone, its potential in supply and logistics, and the favorable conditions already appreciated by international companies.
In turn, Hassan Zadeh proposed developing cooperation in urban planning, the textile industry, and the restoration of historical sites, expressing interest in strengthening trade and economic ties between Tashkent and Tehran.
At the conclusion of the meeting, the parties agreed to continue dialogue at a more detailed level.
