Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — On 7 October 2024, a meeting was held at the Agency of Statistics under the President of Uzbekistan as part of the "Improvement of the Statistical System in Uzbekistan" project, with representatives from the World Bank in attendance.

The meeting was attended by Zohidjon Ziyaev, Deputy Director of the Agency of Statistics, heads of the central administration, and World Bank representatives: Obert Pimhidzai, Ikuko Uochi, Stella Leuca, and key project management specialists.

The mission’s goal is to enhance the operational efficiency of the Agency of Statistics and improve the processes for producing and disseminating statistical data.

It is worth recalling that the "National Strategy for the Development of Statistics of Uzbekistan for 2020-2025" was approved by Presidential Decree No. PP-4796 on August 3, 2020, developed with support from World Bank experts.

The meeting also discussed preparations for the upcoming national census. Both sides agreed to continue their cooperation within the framework of this project.
