Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — Telegram founder Pavel Durov has been placed under custody. French authorities believe he is involved in several serious crimes, according to French media reports.

It was previously reported that Durov was detained at Le Bourget Airport in the suburbs of Paris.

According to the media, Pavel Durov is suspected of committing crimes, including due to Telegram’s refusal to cooperate with French authorities.

It is expected that on Sunday, the messenger founder may face charges including terrorism, drug trafficking, fraud, and money laundering.

The businessman is facing a potential prison sentence of up to 20 years.
