Media Festival NAESMI: 15th anniversary of the Association, traditions and new format

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- On 21 November 2018, the XI Traditional Media Festival dedicated to the 15th anniversary of the establishment of the National Association of Electronic Media of Uzbekistan was held.

The main objectives of the Media Festival “Ozod Yurt Tulkinlari” (“Waves of a Free Country”) were to convey to the general public the essence and content of large-scale reforms of recent years, carried out in various areas of our society, as well as to encourage journalists and technical workers of non-state television and radio companies that work effectively in this direction.

The media festival is held annually by NAESMI together with a number of partner organizations and with the financial support of the Parliamentary Commission for managing the resources of the Public Fund for the support of non-governmental non-profit organizations and other civil society institutions under the Oliy Majlis of the Republic of Uzbekistan.

The festival was held under the motto "The Future Starts Today" and was held in a new format. This is primarily reflected in the presentations prepared by creative young people using creative ideas and modern approaches.

Following the results of the year, the best specialists of non-state television and radio companies were rewarded in a number of nominations for contributing to the development of national journalism on such nominations as “For an innovative approach”, “Family values in a permanent trend”, “Operatively, accurately and in detail”, “In the center - the youth”, “Leader in the region” and “The best media projects of the NAESMI of Uzbekistan”.

A number of partner organizations were awarded on such nominations as “For active participation in covering the implementation of the Action Strategy in five priority areas of development of the Republic of Uzbekistan in 2017–2021”, “For contribution to the development of non-state television and radio broadcasting”, “For confidential and long-term cooperation with the NAESMI of Uzbekistan”, “For active cooperation in the children’s and youth direction”, “For effective social partnership with the NAESMI of Uzbekistan”.

The winners and prize-winners from among the mass media specialists were identified by means of an “online” vote, according to the results of which the best of the best were awarded with statuettes “Ozod Yurt Tulkinlari”, diplomas and valuable gifts.

The festival also hosted an international conference on the topic: “Non-State Media of Uzbekistan: Ideas for the Future and Prospects for Development” and the Youth Media Forum.
