Measures adopted to improve city passenger public transport system in Tashkent

The Government of Uzbekistan issued a resolution "On organizational measures on further improving system of the civil passenger transport" on 13 November 2013, which approved the programme.

The programme envisages measures on optimization of routes and effective use of vehicles, introduction of new measures on exploitation of vehicles, avoiding elimination of doubled routes through closing four routes and decreasing length of 18 routes, as well as changing routes of 15 taxi buses.

The programme also includes measures on use of small and large buses in one route based on intensive passenger flow in various time.

It is also planned to create new passenger bus stations along the Tashkent automobile road ring, and reconstruct several existing bus stations.

The programme also envisages measures on improving profitability of financial-entities of the transport enterprises and legislative framework on activities of transport enterprises.
