Master class: “Modern dance theater: between East and West”

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- A master class on the Theme: “Modern Dance Theater: Between East and West” was held at the Uzbek National Academic Drama Theater with the founder and director of the El Haddawi dance school (translated from Arabic as “walking the path of wisdom”) Ingo Taleb Rashid from Bavaria.

With such an initiative came compatriots who had lived and worked in Germany for a long time, were familiar with the performances of this school firsthand. The nationwide Yuksalish movement, together with the Ministry of Culture of the Republic of Uzbekistan, supported such an idea on building bridges of friendship between our two countries, strengthening cultural and humanitarian cooperation.

One of the important areas of activity of the Yuksalish National Movement is to inform compatriots about transformations in the country, establish a constant and open dialogue with them, support their initiatives, direct their potential for the benefit of the development of Uzbekistan. Special attention is also paid to the development of cooperation between countries using the capabilities and tools of “people’s diplomacy”.

On stage were representatives of different ages, cultures, countries. Language is not a barrier for them. They speak the language of music, the language of dance, the language of art. Melodious sounds of oriental instruments in a modern arrangement, movement and free expression in dance. This turned out to be enough to convey your idea, thought, vision.

The El Haddawi school team uses special voice, breathing techniques and dance forms of traditional Sufism, elements of martial arts (capoeira, ninpo and aikido), types of modern dance and theater, such as Buto Japanese dance and No theater. Their theatrical productions are held around the world. For example, among the works of Ingo Taleb Rashid is the musical Child of the World (Rease Child), one of the first theatrical productions in Israel. The musical was attended by Jewish and Arab children. In the process of preparation, friendship was established between the participants, and later friendly relations were established between their parents.

At the end, the participants of the El Haddawi school presented an excerpt from Ingo Taleb Rashid’s play “Bird Talks” based on the work of Farid ad Din Attar accompanied by live music. Similar workshops took place in Jizzakh region.
