Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- Mask regime again became mandatory in 11 regions of Russia. In other regions, it is obligatory to wear masks only when visiting medical institutions, TASS reports.

Authorities in 11 regions have again announced the mandatory wearing of masks in public places. In the rest of the 85, it is mandatory to wear masks only when visiting medical institutions, follows from the data provided by local administrations.

The head of Rospotrebnadzor Anna Popova on Wednesday at a meeting with Russian President Vladimir Putin announced that in 50 regions the incidence of coronavirus is increasing, in 27 - decreasing. She added that the department is not going to introduce any regulatory rule that would oblige regions to wear masks.

According to the federal operational headquarters, more than 55,000 people are infected with the coronavirus every day in Russia, which corresponds to the maximum figures over the past six months. However, the number of hospitalizations has hardly increased over the past week, as Popova also pointed out.

Despite the return of the mandatory mask regime in a number of regions of Russia, the requirements for its observance are less stringent than at the beginning of the pandemic. So, in Ulyanovsk region, now you need to wear masks only in public transport, pharmacies and social service organizations. In the Trans-Baikal Territory, public authorities are added to this list.

The authorities of the Republic of Altai have ordered several categories of citizens to wear masks, including workers in trade, catering establishments, transport, multifunctional centers, banks, post offices, and reception services in government bodies. And in Smolensk region, visitors to the institutions of the Federal Penitentiary Service are obliged to protect the respiratory organs in this way if a meeting with prisoners is held without separating glasses.

As before, masks must be worn in public places, in state and medical institutions and public transport in Buryatia, and in Tuva - indoors and at mass outdoor events. Also, wearing masks is mandatory on transport or social institutions on Sakhalin, in the Khabarovsk Territory, Arkhangelsk, Belgorod and Smolensk regions.

Some regions refrain from strict restrictions and continue to educate the population. At the same time, experts note an increase in the incidence this fall. "Due to the fact that citizens began to arrive from vacations, we began to experience an increase in infectious diseases, including [infection] with acute respiratory viral infections. Therefore, we urge all citizens to take good care of their health and follow all precautions - wash your hands, and use masks in crowded places," said Elena Levina, head of the health department, at one of the meetings of the operational headquarters.

In turn, the governor of Nizhny Novgorod Gleb Nikitin called for wearing masks at the entrance to those premises that are not additionally processed. “The mask regime is advisory in nature, but it is important to take into account the situation, and if there are no air disinfection devices in the premises, masks must be used everywhere,” Gleb Nikitin’s press service quoted Gleb Nikitin as saying.

In some regions, due to an increase in the number of hospitalizations of patients with coronavirus, hospitals have to be redesigned again. "Due to the fact that it was necessary to increase the number of beds for patients with covid, we were forced to start re-profiling again. Today, we have re-profiled a department in a hospital in the Ordzhonikidzevsky district of Perm and in the first medical unit in the Sverdlovsk district," she said at one from press conferences Anastasia Kruten, Minister of Health of Perm Territory.

However, in most regions, it is noted that the number of beds deployed is several times less than a year earlier. Thus, 69 beds are deployed in Yamalo-Nenets Autonomous Okrug, but 1.5 thousand are in reserve. About 500 beds are occupied in the Samara region, and 8.5 thousand on peak days of the incidence. And Oleg Kostin, Minister of Health of the Saratov Region, promised that the region can triple the number of beds in one day - from about 300 to 900.
