Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) —  The Tashkent Regional Court for Criminal Cases has sentenced Zokirjon Sodigaliyev, accused of murdering a family in the Yangiyul district in July 2024.

During a closed court session presided over by Judge Bakhtiyor Rozikov, the defendant was found guilty of crimes including premeditated murder, rape, desecration of a grave, robbery, and property destruction.

Sodigaliyev was charged under several articles of the Criminal Code of Uzbekistan. He was convicted of murder with aggravating circumstances, such as the killing of two or more persons, the crime being committed with particular cruelty, and for financial gain. The charges also included rape, desecration of a grave, and robbery involving breaking into a home and causing serious bodily harm.

The court sentenced Zokirjon Sodigaliyev to life imprisonment in a high-security prison.

He murdered his relative (33 years old), his wife (25 years old), and three children (6, 3, and 2 years old), and after the crime, he set their house on fire.

During the investigation, the defendant stated that he committed the murder due to a debt owed by his victim.
