In line with the document, more mathematicians, physicians and scientists from Uzbekistan will come to the Malaysian university.
IIUM Rector Datuk Seri Syed Arabi Idid said Uzbekistan had many theoretical experts on mathematics and science due to influence from Russia. "We hope we can bring in some of them here," he told the media after signing the MoU.
Tashkent Islamic University Rector Ravshan Abdullaev described the MoU as a good platform for research cooperation and exchange of materials and staff. "However, our priority is to establish knowledge exchange in Islam and secular science," he said.
