During the discussion of the protocol in the Senate’s plenary session, the Minister for Investment and Development Zhenis Kasymbek said that between Kazakhstan and Uzbekistan there is currently no bus services for passengers. Kasymbek noted that this creates inconvenience during border crossing.
According to him, the protocol establishes legal norms for regular, irregular and transit transportation of passengers by road.
This document will give a positive impetus to further development of trade and economic ties between Uzbekistan and Kazakhstan, the minister said. The protocol will also increase the mobility of the population and strengthen bilateral relations.
The minister said that Uzbekistan and Kazakhstan plan to launch passenger routes before the end of this year. He noted that regular bus routes will be opened between the major cities of the countries.
