China 10/03/2025 Ma Xingrui invites foreign media to visit Xinjiang

Ma Xingrui invites foreign media to visit Xinjiang

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — During the session of the National People's Congress ("Two Sessions" of China) held on 7 March, Politburo member of the Communist Party of China (CPC) and Party Secretary of the Xinjiang Uyghur Autonomous Region, Ma Xingrui, addressed foreign media, inviting them to visit the region and witness the real situation firsthand.

Ma Xingrui firmly rejected allegations of genocide and forced labor, stating, "What forced labor? What genocide? There is no such thing! I strongly urge all respected journalists to come to Xinjiang, walk its streets, see everything with their own eyes, and personally experience the real situation. Do not be deceived by certain media outlets that deliberately smear Xinjiang."

The invitation extended to foreign journalists at such a high-profile state event underscores the Chinese leadership's intention to demonstrate openness and transparency regarding the situation in the region.

In recent years, Xinjiang has been at the center of international attention due to allegations of human rights violations. Chinese authorities, in turn, have consistently asserted that the region is undergoing active development and that the country's policies towards Xinjiang are deliberately distorted by hostile forces.

China has previously organized visits for diplomats and representatives of foreign media to Xinjiang to showcase developments in the region.

Ma Xingrui’s statement reaffirms Beijing’s ongoing efforts to promote its position on the global stage, calling for an objective portrayal of the situation.
