Long lines for UMS sim-cards lined up in Uzbekistan
Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- Huge queues of people, who want to buy new sim-cards of Universal Mobile Systems (UMS), lined up at sales offices of the UMS.

As reported earlier, mobile operator Universal Mobile Systems (UMS) launched its mobile network into commercial exploitation from 1 December 2014. The company will provide services under UMS brand.

MTS (50.01%) and Center for Radio Communication, Broadcasting and Television (CRBT) under the State committee for communications, development of information systems and telecommunications technologies (49.9%) are founders of the venture.

Long lines for UMS sim-cards lined up in Uzbekistan

The joint venture will operate on the basis of assets, equipment and infrastructure, which were previously owned by Uzdunrobita FE LLC, a former subsidiary of MTS in Uzbekistan, and which will be transferred to this newly established joint venture.

According to website of the operator, UMS currently offers three tariffs for individuals an two tariffs for corporate clients.

MTS Uzbekistan worked in Uzbekistan till the summer 2012. In 2012, Uzbek Communication Agency suspended its licenses and later the court abolished its licenses.
