In the reporting period, knitwear enterprises grew by 26.2%, sewing enterprises – by 22.8%, leather industry – 20,9%, cotton manufacture – by 16.3%, the committee said.
The Uzbek enterprises also increased production of mixed fabrics by 50.6%, cotton fabrics – 46.2%, cotton yarn – by 29.3% and silk threats – by 28.1%.
Uzbekistan increased production of materials for footwear (2.1 times), textile haberdashery (+53.4%), knitted fabric (+50.1%), carpets and rugs ( +15.0%).
Uzbekistan significantly increased production of such consumer goods as knitted products (41.6%), including knitted products for children (+36.6%).
Knitting industry enterprises exported products worth US$73 million, which grew by 65.8% year-on-year, garment industry – US$25.5 million (+36.5%), leather industry – US$35.1 million (+53.1%).
