Light industry of Uzbekistan produces goods for 3.809 trln. soums in 1H

In the reporting period, enterprises of textile industry produced goods for 3.221 trillion soums (+13.9%), ready garment – 339.7 billion soums (+23.9%), leather-footwear – 182.3 billion soums (+20.9%).

Enterprises of cotton fabrics – 1.4 times, cotton yarn – 1.3 times, knitted fabrics – 1.6 times, knitted products – 1.4 times, carpets and carpet products – 18.2%, hosiery products – 22.1%, silk threads – 45%, textile products – 1.7 times and cotton lint – 11.5%.

The industry exported textile products for US$431.2 million or grew by 27% year-on-year. Share of textile products in total exports made up 6.3% in the reporting period.

The export of knitted fabrics grew 2.7 times, cotton yarn – 28.7%, cotton fabrics – 27.7%, knitted products and garments – 23%.
