Legislative Chamber hosts roundtable on ecologic control

MPs, experts, representatives of the state bodies and public organizations, NGOs and other participated at the event.

The roundtable was dedicated to the draft law “On ecologic control”. During the process of improvement of the law, Uzbekistan studied experience of Germany, France, Great Britain, United States, Poland, Slovakia, Hungary, the Czech Republic and other countries in the area of regulating relations in environment protection and participation of public in this process.

The draft law “On ecologic control” is directed at further boosting activities of the public and NGOs in monitoring state of environment and health of people in the region, improve legislation in ecologic control, create mechanism on coordinating controlling activities, etc.

It was said that the draft law is also directed at implementing law “On nature protection” and determines main directions of policy in ecologic control and participation of the NGOs in this process, effective use of nature and natural resources, protection of population health and interests of the country.

The participants of the roundtable supported the draft law and shared their proposals on further improving the document.
