Legislative Chamber approves execution of state budget in 1H
Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- On 16 September 2014, Legislative Chamber of Oliy Majlis of Uzbekistan considered a report of the Cabinet of Ministers on execution of Uzbekistan in the first half of 2014.

It was underlined that the state budget of Uzbekistan was executed with surplus in the first half of 2014 despite ongoing global economic and financial crisis.

It was said that 506,400 new jobs were created in Uzbekistan in the first half of 2014, of which 303,200 were created in rural areas. About 74,700 new jobs were created in 32 labour surplus districts.

About 60.8% from total expenses were directed to social sphere and social support of population, which made up 14.6% to GDP. The funds were directed to education, healthcare and other spheres.

About 22.7% of expenses to social sector were directed to development of healthcare, which rose by 16% year-on-year. Expenses for culture, sport and mass media rose by 18.3% year-on-year in the first half of 2014 and development of science – 11.5%.

It was said that over 3.1 trillion soums were directed to implementation of the state programme “The Year of Healthy Children”.

It was underlined that income from single tax payment rose by 26.2% in the first six months of 2014 compared to the same period of 2013.

Uzbekistan increased exports by 8% in the reporting period, while foreign trade surplus exceeded US$482.1 million.

Production of consumer goods grew by 11%, retail trade turnover – 13.7%, services – 14.2%.

Legislative Chamber of Oliy Majlis of Uzbekistan approved the execution of the state budget of Uzbekistan in the first half of 2014 and passed corresponding resolution.
