Legislative Chamber adopts several laws in first reading
Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- Legislative Chamber of Oliy Majlis of Uzbekistan held a session on 10 January 2013. MPs considered several draft laws in the first reading.

MPs considered a draft law "On introduction of changes and amendments to some legislative acts of Uzbekistan in connection with improvement of legislation on preventing and treating tuberculosis".

The document was developed in order to improve activities on preventing and treating tuberculosis and decreasing prevalence among population, preventing evasion from treatment.

They also discussed "On introduction of changes and amendments to some legislative acts of Uzbekistan in connection with cardinal decreasing licensing types of activities and permission procedures" in the first reading.

The document was developed in order to execute decree of the President of Uzbekistan "On measures on cardinal decreasing statistics, tax and financial reporting, licensing types of activities and permission procedures" from 16 July 2012.

It was said that proposed changes and amendments are directed at abolishing licensing to some activities and permission procedures to improve business environment, simplify and decrease licensing and permission procedures.

MPs discussed "On introduction of changes and amendments to Law of Uzbekistan "On audit activity". The draft law was developed in order to improve audit as priority direction of deepening economic reforms in Uzbekistan.

The document was prepared in line with the presidential resolution from 26 November 20120 and order of President of Uzbekistan from 14 January 2011.

Proposed changes and amendments are directed at introducing international principles to audit system of Uzbekistan. MPs said that the document will help to improve audit activity and role of audit inspection.

They also considered a draft law "On introduction of changes and amendments to Labour Code of Uzbekistan", which was developed in line with the presidential decree “On measures on further cardinal improvement of business activities and provision of more freedom to entrepreneurship” from 18 July 2012.

At the session, MPs said that the document is directed at further improving labour legislation in Uzbekistan to improve business environment. The law was developed based on international experience.

Legislative Chamber approved the draft laws in the first reading. Corresponding committees were entrusted to prepare documents to the second reading.
