Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- Clusters of the leather and footwear industry will be created in Uzbekistan in accordance with the decree of the President of Uzbekistan “On measures to bring the leather, footwear, silk and carpet industries to a new stage of development.”
In Sharaf-Rashidov and Akhangaran districts, it is planned to create zones for the leather and footwear industry and directorates for their management. These clusters will be focused on deep processing of leather and production of finished products.
Industrial buildings and structures in industrial zones will be transferred to entrepreneurs with installment payments for up to 7 years or on lease terms.
For the purchase of equipment for the production of footwear and leather goods, interest expenses on loans in foreign currency will be compensated by the Entrepreneurship Development Company JSC.
Enterprises that attract foreign brands to produce shoes and leather goods will be reimbursed up to $30 thousand for expenses associated with the “sourcing” of companies.
Until 1 January 2026, enterprises established in these directorates and industrial zones are exempt from property tax, land tax and tax for the use of water resources.
