Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — During his working visit to Baku, President of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev met with President of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev.
At the start of the meeting, the Uzbek leader warmly congratulated the Azerbaijani president on the successful organization of the UN Climate Summit (COP29).
Key issues regarding the expansion of Uzbek-Azerbaijani relations of friendship and partnership were discussed, with a focus on implementing agreements reached at the highest level in August of this year.
Both sides noted with satisfaction the current high level of cooperation, which has marked a year of significant growth in multifaceted relations between the two countries.
Bilateral trade volumes are increasing, and projects in automotive, textile, electrical engineering, agriculture, construction, and urban development are progressing successfully.
Special emphasis was placed on expanding the portfolio of joint projects, including through the Joint Investment Company.
They also discussed enhancing practical cooperation aimed at promoting Afghanistan's economic development.
Attention was given to continuing active cultural, humanitarian, and interregional exchanges, as well as preparing a comprehensive program to celebrate the 30th anniversary of diplomatic relations in 2025.
As part of the meeting, a ceremony was held to launch a joint garment factory in the city of Khankendi.
