Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — On 19 September, Minister of Investment, Industry, and Trade Laziz Kudratov met with the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of India to Uzbekistan, Smita Pant.

During the negotiations, the current state of trade and economic cooperation between Uzbekistan and India was reviewed, and prospective areas for further collaboration were identified.

In particular, measures to increase trade turnover, attract investments, improve logistics, and further diversify transportation connectivity were discussed.

Organizational matters related to holding the 15th session of the Intergovernmental Joint Commission between Uzbekistan and India in Tashkent by the end of this year were addressed separately. Additionally, the participation of India’s Minister of Finance and Corporate Affairs in the 9th Annual Meeting of the Board of Governors of the Asian Infrastructure Investment Bank, to be held on September 25-26 in Samarkand, was discussed.

At the conclusion of the meeting, both sides agreed on a series of further joint actions concerning the discussed issues on the bilateral cooperation agenda.
