The decision on inclusion to the programme of the 18th Asian Summer Games was adopted at the Olympic Council of Asia at its General Assembly meeting in Ashgabat, Turkmenistan.

According to the program revealed today there would 15 medal events for Kurash in the Asian Games 2018, seven for male weight categories and eight for female competitors.

The 18th Asian Summer Games will be held Jakarta and Palembang, Indonesia from 18 August to 2 September 2018.

For the first time in history Kurash is included as an official sport into the program of this OCA’s flagship event widely acknowledged as the second largest multi sport Games after the Summer Olympics.

Kurash will also feature in the official program of the 2016 Asian Beach Games in Vietnam and the 2017 Asian Indoor and Martial Arts Games in Turkmenistan.
