“On behalf of AFC I would like to congratulate the Government of Uzbekistan and the UFF for hosting this tournament to such high standards,” said Tahir, who is also an AFC Executive Committee member.

“Tashkent proved to be the perfect hosts yet again and provided the perfect atmosphere for this tournament that contributes to the development of youth football in Asia.”

Tahir was impressed by the attendances at the Pakhtakor and Jar stadiums.

“Football is for the fans and the stadiums are full of them it adds a lot of entertainment. This year we were convinced again that the people of Uzbekistan are fond of football. They have attended matches in which neutral teams are playing in large numbers.”

The Head of Delegation said the teams were performing at a high level.

“I was pleased with the high standard of the teams, which is much improved than two years back,” said Tahir.
