Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — On 22 December, a regular season match of the Kontinental Hockey League (KHL) took place at the Humo Arena in Tashkent, featuring Dynamo Minsk and Spartak Moscow.
The game, dedicated to the 78th anniversary of Spartak, set a new attendance record for KHL World Games, with 9,405 spectators. Uzbekistan became the 16th country to host a KHL match.
As part of the event, young Uzbek hockey players participated in a master class led by hockey legends Ilya Kovalchuk, Sergei Fedorov, and Valery Kamensky. Fans enjoyed an autograph session with the hockey legends and stand-up comedian Yevgeny Chebatkov, along with contests and prize giveaways.
The match concluded with Spartak winning 3-2 in overtime. KHL President Alexey Morozov praised the organization of the event and the record attendance. The KHL plans to continue the tradition of holding away games in the upcoming season.
