Currently, MoneyGram money transfer services are available in over 100 divisions of the Uzbek bank.
Yevgeniy Butyugin, regional director of MoneyGram in Russia, Belarus and Central Asia, said MoneyGram and People’s Bank pay great attention to quality of provided services. This cooperation will help to expand MoneyGram service points in Uzbekistan and position of People’s Bank as largest financial market player in the country.
Butyugin said that accession of the People’s Bank to MoneyGram allowed company to increase number of service points up to 750, which is another step to expansion of the system in Uzbekistan.
People’s Bank is one of the largest financial institutions in Uzbekistan. The bank’s has been launched in 1875 as the first saving bank in Tashkent. After Uzbekistan’s independence, the bank was reorganized into the People’s Bank from UzSberBank.
