Uzbekistan 18/04/2007 Kazakh premier discusses ties with Eurasian trade bloc colleagues
The EurAsEC includes Belarus, Russia, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan, and Uzbekistan. The EurAsEC creation treaty was signed in Astana, Kazakhstan, on 10 October 2000. Uzbekistan officially joined to the organisation on 25 January in Saint Petersburg. The organization aims at promoting the creation of the common customs and economic space in the CIS. The coordination of WTO accession efforts of the member countries is another priority of EurAsEC.

As reported earlier, the 18th session of the EurAsEC intergovernmental council, attended by the heads of EurAsEC government, will be held in the Kazakh capital on Wednesday, 18 April.

Karim Masimov received Tajik Prime Minister Oqil Oqilov, Uzbek Deputy Prime Minister Rustam Azimov, Kyrgyz Prime Minister Almazbek Atambayev and Deputy Prime Minister of Belarus Andrey Kobyakow.

During the talks with Tajik Prime Minister Oqil Oqilov, Karim Masimov said that "setting up Kazakh-Tajik joint construction joint ventures could give an additional impetus to developing bilateral relations".

"Kazakhstan has accumulated significant experience in the construction field. Due to this, Kazakh companies could take part in constructing housing estates with all relevant infrastructure in major Tajik cities," the press service quoted Masimov as saying.

At the same time, at the talks with his Uzbek colleague, the head of the Kazakh government said: "Kazakhstan is firmly geared up to continue a constructive political dialogue with Uzbekistan and encourages economic, cultural and humanitarian cooperation between the two countries."

Karim Masimov congratulated Almazbek Atambayev on his appointment as new Kyrgyz prime minister; in turn, Masimov and Belarusian Deputy Prime Minister Andrey Kobyakow discussed further developing bilateral relations.
