“Kaplanbek” and “Atameken” Border Checkpoints Modernized on Uzbekistan–Kazakhstan Border
Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — Two modernized customs checkpoints — “Kaplanbek” and “Atameken” — have officially begun operations on the Kazakhstan–Uzbekistan border.
The upgraded border facilities now offer significantly increased capacity, with the number of traffic lanes expanded from two to six. As a result, all necessary procedures now take an average of no more than 30 minutes to complete.
Drivers are no longer required to exit their vehicles, as the entire inspection process is carried out in a contactless and expedited format.
Since 2023, all checkpoints along the external border of the Eurasian Economic Union have implemented the CarGoRuqsat electronic queue system, further simplifying and speeding up border crossings.
