Left defender Sahob Juraev had injured his ankle while clearing the ball in front of Ignatiy Nesterov’s goal on Friday in Uzbekistan’s 2-0 win, while midfielder Timur Kapadze received five stitches on his eyebrow after a midair clash with Qatari Sebastian Suria.
“Both the players are recovering fast and should be able to play in the next match,” team doctor Abror Pirriev told www.afcasiancup.com.
“Juraev is well on way to recovery and should regain full fitness before the next match. Timur is also doing well.”
The team, except the substitutes, had a rest day on Saturday.
