John Deere presents innovative solutions for the agricultural sector at the first international online conference for the CIS countries

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) – John Deere presented innovative solutions for the agricultural sector at the first international online conference for the CIS countries.

The company’s experts spoke about a new line of 8R tractors, new flagship X9 combines, revolutionary solutions for fertilizing and other latest developments

John Deere held an international online conference, which was the first of its kind in the CIS. Now, in connection with the Covid-19 pandemic, the company has decided to abandon large-scale in-person events, but the request for information on new solutions for the agricultural sector remains as noticeable as before. Agriculture is a strategically important industry that continues to operate at full capacity even in force majeure circumstances, so John Deere continues to communicate with its customers, partners and dealers in a new format. The conference brought together participants from Russia, Ukraine, Belarus, Kazakhstan, Azerbaijan, Germany and Italy, who received first-hand information about the latest developments of the company and were able to ask questions to John Deere experts.

At the conference, a new corporate strategy "Smart Technology Company" was presented, which will take effect from 2021. Its three main components are manufacturing systems, a suite of technologies and lifecycle solutions. The first of these pillars assumes that John Deere will not only sell individual models of equipment - instead, it will become an organization based on production systems that include integrated solutions for various types of agricultural work throughout the year. In addition, customers will take advantage of John Deere’s third-party partnerships to help customers significantly reduce operating costs.

The set of technologies is another fundamental component of the new corporate model: it covers investments in automation, autonomy, artificial intelligence, smart technology, integrated software solutions, various scenarios for their use, etc.

Finally, the third component - lifecycle solutions - assumes that customers no longer look at solutions in isolation: they want to know their costs throughout their entire lifecycle. Therefore, John Deere already offers and will continue to offer complete solutions covering the entire life cycle of the equipment, which will give farmers confidence in planning and forecasting.

One of the developments that simplifies the implementation of the new corporate model and at the same time is part of it, was the Operations Center (Operations Center). It is a cloud resource that allows you to control equipment remotely in real time. With its help, you can track the location of vehicles, send tasks to specific units of equipment, monitor the situation as a whole and quickly respond to changes, exchange data with a dealer and partners, etc. All this helps to improve the productivity and quality of agricultural products in the long term.

The conference also presented the latest models of equipment in various directions, and in the sprayer segment, a significant event was the appearance of a 36-meter-wide carbon fiber boom on the Brazilian-made M4000 model. Carbon fiber is stronger and lighter than steel, which increases reliability and practicality. In addition, increasing the width gives a 14% increase in productivity, and fewer passes in the field reduce crop damage, which directly affects yield. The sprayer is equipped with the new ExactApply technology, which gives the best output for every liter of spray applied. It provides consistent droplet size at all speeds, reversal compensation, individual nozzle control, etc., resulting in savings of up to €6 per hectare.

An important innovation is also the new self-propelled dry fertilizer spreader M4040DN, which has already proven itself successfully in Brazil. It will allow farmers to easily switch to differentiated fertilization. Thanks to the G4 Spread Technology system, it is able to work both offline, that is, according to prescription maps entered into its operating system, and online, that is, changing the application rate on the go in real time, focusing on the data received from sensors. In addition to the G4 Spread Technology, the spreader can be equipped with an AutoTrac automatic steering system at the customer’s request. Working speed can reach up to 32 km / h, which is 28% higher than other spreaders on the market. In addition, the model features a wide spreading range of 32 m.

In the tractor segment, the new 8R Series deserves special attention - John Deere was the first agricultural equipment manufacturer to launch a line of standard tractors with three different undercarriages: the new 8R wheeled tractor series, the 8RT twin track models and the latest 8RX four track models. The 8RX is the only tractor in the world with a classic layout on four tracks: thanks to the features of the original four-track design, it has all the advantages of both wheeled and tracked vehicles at the same time. Unique in its category, the 8RX Series has been designed to maximize soil protection without sacrificing productivity. Consequently, the models in this series have the least pressure on the ground and at the same time have the largest contact patch compared to other undercarriage options. A wide selection of tracks will allow the customer to use this tractor when working on row crops and go into the field before starting field work. These models are characterized by increased maneuverability and do not damage the soil when turning. All tractors in the range are equipped with the new AutoSetup function, which allows you to download all the data required for individual tasks directly into the tractor system. This greatly simplifies the process, the tractor is ready for operation in the field much faster, and the possibility of incorrect settings is eliminated.

In the combine segment, the focus was on the new high-performance X-series combines, which have become the flagship of the line: X9 1000 and X9 1100 and take the productivity of John Deere combine harvesters to a new level. The advantages of this series are confirmed by the DLG silver medal "For increasing the productivity of large combines", received at the AGRITECHNIKA-2019 exhibition.

The X9 1100 harvester allows to achieve extremely high indicators when harvesting wheat - 100 tons per hour, and the grain loss is less than 1%. This productivity is ensured, among other things, by the widest feeder house on the market and the largest grain cleaner in this category, which increase the processing speed of the crop mass. The X-Series combines are also economical: they can run up to 14 hours without refueling thanks to the new 13.6-liter six-cylinder John Deere PowerTech diesel engine with 700 hp. (515 kW). Revolutionary developments in transmission, crop handling, cleaning systems, and Xcel straw chopping knives have reduced power requirements to 120 hp. (86 kW), while the productivity of the combine has increased. The X9 models also feature a full suite of onboard technologies, and depending on the configuration chosen, AutoMaintain, Active Terrain Adjustment and Active Yield systems can be installed.

The conference participants also learned the details of the new world record for the number of hectares planted within 24 hours, set by John Deere. With the help of her technique, 543 hectares were planted per day on the territory of the SLC Palmares hacienda in Luis Eduardo Magallains in Brazil. The record was set by a John Deere DB planter with Exact Emerge row units and a 9RX tractor, which were connected to the Operations Center to measure planting quality and area over 24 hours. The high-tech DB seeder with ExactEmerge row units met high expectations and sowed with excellent precision at speeds up to 16 km / h, controlling the quantity and quality of crops on the fly. The Operations Center also played a very important role when at the very beginning of the planting it warned that the seed was not coming from the seeder due to operator error, which made it possible to quickly correct it.

The record was achieved and recorded with the support of the MT Foundation, an agronomic research institution based in Mato Grosso, Brazil. Thus, the previous achievement, recorded earlier in Hungary, which was about 40 hectares less, was beaten.

“We are very pleased to note that the online conference aroused keen interest, and participants from different CIS countries, as well as Italy and Germany, joined it. It was the answer to a request from farmers who want to know about new effective solutions to increase yields and productivity, as well as reduce costs. Therefore, we will continue to present our new developments in the future, using different communication channels with dealers, customers and partners, ”says Alexander Belyaev, head of John Deere marketing in Russia.
