Project Formulation Advisor of JICA Uzbekistan Office Ms. Hidemi Sato

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — The Office of the Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA) in Uzbekistan will continue to collaborate with teachers and all stakeholders in the education sector to enhance the quality of education in Uzbekistan, according to the Project Formulation Advisor of JICA Uzbekistan Office Ms. Hidemi Sato.

Ms. Sato congratulated education professionals on Teacher’s Day, which is celebrated in Uzbekistan on 1st October.

“On behalf of the JICA Uzbekistan office, I would like to express my appreciation for your selfless commitment and dedication to educating the young minds of Uzbekistan,” she said.

She emphasized that teachers are at the heart of quality education: “Your work deserves the utmost respect, as teaching nurtures the minds and expands the horizons of future generations. Thank you for everything you do,” Ms. Sato stated.

JICA staff noted that the agency also collaborates with teachers in Uzbekistan to enhance children’s learning.

“We currently have an inclusive education project in which we work with teachers from kindergartens and primary schools to develop and deliver training courses on inclusive education and special needs education for children with disabilities,” she explained.

“We also have nine volunteers working in public schools and universities here, teaching subjects ranging from Japanese language and IT to business and finance. Additionally, there is an ongoing project with the Uzbek-Japan Innovation Center for Youth, which facilitates joint research and collaborations with Japanese universities,” Ms. Sato noted.

Furthermore, JICA has a scholarship program called Japan Development Scholarship (JDS), which has enabled over 400 young officials from Uzbekistan to pursue master’s and PhD programs at Japanese universities, she added.

JICA Uzbekistan will continue to work with teachers and all stakeholders in the education sector to improve the quality of education in Uzbekistan, she concluded.
