Japan’s Foreign Minister: Uzbekistan is a strategic partner of Japan

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) —  Uzbekistan’s Foreign Minister Bakhtiyor Saidov held a telephone conversation with Japan’s Foreign Minister, Takeo Iwai.

The two sides discussed ways to achieve new results in the strengthening relationship between Uzbekistan and Japan.

The ministers agreed that their teams would closely cooperate to realize the potential of partnership between the countries.

Particular attention was given to issues related to enhancing economic cooperation.

During the conversation, they also reviewed plans for upcoming events and discussed cooperation at regional and international levels, including current global issues.

Minister Iwai noted that Uzbekistan is a strategic partner of Japan in maintaining and strengthening a free and open international order based on the rule of law.

He expressed readiness to closely collaborate with Minister Saidov to further deepen the relations between the two countries.

Minister Iwai also stated that he hopes the joint meeting of the economic committees of Japan and Uzbekistan, held on 31 October, will provide an opportunity to strengthen bilateral relations.

He emphasized that the provision of financial loans totaling 76 billion Japanese yen this year will contribute to the sustainable development of Uzbekistan.

Bakhtiyor Saidov expressed a desire to enhance cooperation in all areas, including politics, trade, investment, and economic relations.
