Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- The Japanese Embassy in the Republic of Uzbekistan with the participation of students learning Japanese in Tashkent, Samarkand and the Uzbek-Japanese Center, will hold a tournament in knowledge of the Japanese language by playing Japanese cards in the International Caravanserai of Culture. In addition, at the end of the tournament, the traditional ceremony of cooking mochi (rice cakes) - Motitsuki will be demonstrated.
The purpose of this event is to promote the development and study of the Japanese language in Uzbekistan, to stimulate the learning process among students, to get acquainted with Japanese culture and cuisine.
The tournament will be attended by 24 students from the Tashkent State Institute of Oriental Studies, Tashkent State Law University, Tashkent State Economic University, Uzbek State University of World Languages, University of World Economy and Diplomacy, Samarkand State Institute of Foreign Languages, Uzbek-Japanese Center.
Winners will be awarded prizes from the organizers.
Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Japan to the Republic of Uzbekistan Mr. Ito Nobuaki, Japanese language teachers and students, and the media will take part in the competition.
