Japan issues US$489,000 to Uzbek healthcare projects
Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- The Government of Japan allocated US$489,000 to Uzbekistan to implement five projects in healthcare sector.

Ambassador of Japan to Uzbekistan Yosihisa Kuroda signed grant contracts, which are issued within the Japan Government’s programme on no-string aid to grass-root projects.

In particular, the regional children psychoneurological hospital of Bukhara region received the grant at the size of US$88,400 to implementation of the project “Equipment of the regional children psychoneurological hospital of Bukhara region with modern equipment”.

Muzrabat district medical union of Surkhandarya region will implement the project “Equipment of the Muzrabat district medical union of Surkhandarya region with modern equipment”. The Government of Japan issued US$87,000 to the project.

Japan also provided US$101,900 to the First City Hospital of Namangan to implement the project “Equipment of the First City Hospital of Namangan with modern equipment”.

Clinic of Tashkent Pediatric Medical Institute received US$119,450 to realization of the project “Equipment of the Clinic of Tashkent Pediatric Medical Institute with modern equipment”.

Tashlak district medical union of Ferghana region got the grant for US$93,240 to the project “Equipment of the Tashlak district medical union of Ferghana region with modern equipment”.

The Government of Japan has been implementing the programme on no-string aid to grass-root projects since 1995 to improve social conditions and prosperity of people of Uzbekistan. The programme finances projects in education, healthcare, agriculture and other sectors. In last 15 years, some 299 projects for US$18 million were implemented.
