Japan allocates grants worth US$765,648 to Uzbekistan
Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- The Government of Japan allocated grants for US$765,648 to Uzbekistan to implement nine projects in education, healthcare and agriculture sectors.

Ambassador of Japan to Uzbekistan Yosihisa Kuroda signed grant contracts, which were issued within the no-string aid programme of the Government of Japan to grass-root projects.

Specialized boarding school No. 106 of Tashkent city received US$96,900 within the project “Improving conditions of training at the Specialized boarding school No. 106 of Tashkent city”.

Secondary school No. 9 of Ferghana city (Ferghana region) received US$48,248 to improve training conditions.

Japan issued US$56,217 to Secondary School No. 4 of Sherabad district of Surkhandarya region and US$46,409 to Secondary School No. 38 of Turakurgan district of Namangan region. The resources will be used to improve training conditions at schools.

Secondary School No. 18 of Bulungur district of Samarkand region received the grant for US$82,131 for similar project.

The grant for US$105,500 was issued to equipment with modern medical tools of Children department of Scienitific-Research Institute of haematology and blood transfusion.

Urgench regional medical union got US$102,450 to implement a project on purchase of modern equipment.

To purchase agriculture equipment to hold seminars of the Karakalpakstan Farm Association, Japan issued the grant worth US$104,244.

Nukus Water-users Association received US$123,549 to improve conditions of agriculture lands in Nukus district of Karakalpakstan Republic.
