Jamshid Khodjaev appointed as Chair of the ADB Board of Governors for 2025–2026
Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — On 6–7 May 2025, a delegation from the Republic of Uzbekistan, led by Deputy Prime Minister Jamshid Khodjaev, participated in the 58th Annual Meeting of the Asian Development Bank (ADB) Board of Governors, held in Milan, Italy.
The key outcome of the visit was the official announcement that Uzbekistan will assume the chairmanship of the ADB Board of Governors for the 2025–2026 term. Jamshid Khodjaev was confirmed as Chair of the Board, reflecting the high level of trust and recognition accorded to Uzbekistan by international financial institutions.
It was also unanimously decided that the 59th Annual Meeting of the ADB Board of Governors will be held in May 2026 in the city of Samarkand.
During the event, a new implementation program was signed, comprising 23 projects scheduled for 2025–2026 with a total value of US$3.6 billion. These initiatives will focus on key areas of socio-economic development, including education, water supply, transport infrastructure, and financial and technical support.
