During the meeting, the guest familiarized with development of telecommunication and information technologies in Uzbekistan. Houlin Zhao praised conducted works in the sector, in particular in digital telecommunication networks, development of mobile communication and introduction of digital television.

The sides considered training of specialists in telecommunication and information technologies. The sides underlined with satisfaction on accession of Tashkent University of Information Technologies to Telecommunication Development Sector of the ITU.

The sides exchanged opinion on project “Sustainable electricity supply of telecommunication objects in rural and separate areas”, which is implemented in Uzbekistan at technical assistance of the ITU. Based on this project, it is planned to develop recommendations on use of alternative sources of energy at ITU member states.

It was said Uzbekistan communication administration actively participated at the ITU events. In April 2012, Uzbekistan is planning to hold Regional Preliminary Meeting to the Global Assembly on standardization of telecommunication n 2012 and Regional Preparation Meeting to the Global Conference on International Telecommunication in 2012.

Houlin Zhao visited the Museum of communication history and familiarized with the telecommunication history of Uzbekistan. He said that the museum has rich technical base, which still work and in good condition.
